Welcome to WpCircle, the world’s first specialized marketplace dedicated exclusively to the WordPress ecosystem. This guide provides a detailed deep-dive into how our platform functions, how we protect your money, and how to set up your account for success.
1. What is WpCircle?
WpCircle is a curated marketplace designed to bridge the gap between businesses and elite WordPress talent. Unlike general freelance platforms, we focus solely on the WordPress stack.
Why a Specialized Marketplace?
- Vetted Expertise: Every professional on WpCircle is evaluated for their WordPress-specific knowledge, from Gutenberg development to WooCommerce optimization.
- Tailored Workflow: Our project management tools are built around the specific needs of web development, including staging site reviews and plugin integration milestones.
- Niche Support: Our support team understands the difference between a CSS conflict and a database error, providing technical mediation that general platforms cannot offer.
2. How WpCircle Works
We utilize a structured 6-step lifecycle to ensure that every project—whether a $50 fix or a $50,000 enterprise build—is completed safely.
- Post a Project: You define your needs. Our intelligent categorization helps you tag your project correctly (e.g., Speed Optimization, Custom Theme, Security Audit) to attract the right specialists.
- Receive Proposals: Professionals submit custom bids. These aren’t just prices; they are strategy documents outlining how the expert intends to solve your specific problem.
- Chat & Interview: Use our secure real-time messaging. We recommend discussing technical requirements and delivery formats here before any contracts are signed.
- Shortlist & Hire: You can compare candidates side-by-side. Once you find the right fit, you send a formal offer.
- Escrow Protection: Before work begins, the client deposits the project funds. WpCircle holds these funds in a neutral account, providing a guarantee of payment for the pro and a guarantee of delivery for the client.
- Approve & Release: Once the work is delivered and you have tested it on your site, you release the funds.
3. Escrow Protection Explained
The Escrow system is the cornerstone of trust on WpCircle. It eliminates the risk of “payment before work” and “work without payment.”
The Financial Workflow
- Step 1: Funding: The client pays for a milestone. The money is marked as “In Escrow.”
- Step 2: Verification: WpCircle notifies the professional that the project is fully funded and it is safe to begin work.
- Step 3: Submission: The professional submits the work through the platform.
- Step 4: Review Period: The client has a set period to review the deliverables.
- Step 5: Disbursement: Once approved, the funds move from Escrow to the professional’s “Pending Earnings.”
Note: If the work does not meet the agreed-upon requirements, the client can request revisions or, in extreme cases, initiate a dispute via our Resolution Center.
4. Create an Account
Setting up your WpCircle identity is a straightforward process designed to verify your intent and security.
- Registration: Sign up via email, Google, or GitHub.
- Email Verification: A mandatory step to prevent bot activity. Check your inbox for the activation link.
- Core Onboarding: You will be asked three foundational questions:
- What is your primary goal (Hiring vs. Working)?
- What is your experience level with WordPress?
- What is your preferred currency for billing?
- Identity Verification (KYC): To maintain a high-trust environment, professionals may be required to submit government ID verification before bidding on high-value projects.
5. Account Types (Client vs. Professional)
WpCircle offers two distinct profile types, but you can manage both under a single login.
| Feature | Client Account (Buyer) | Professional Account (Seller) |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Goal | Post jobs and hire talent. | Find jobs and earn money. |
| Dashboard | Focuses on spending, project progress, and active hires. | Focuses on earnings, active bids, and skill certifications. |
| Visibility | Your profile is visible to the pros you contact. | Your profile is searchable in the Expert Directory. |
| Tools | Billing management and project drafting. | Portfolio builder and proposal tracking. |
6. Platform Fees
Transparency in pricing ensures there are no hidden costs during the payout phase.
For Clients
- Posting: Posting a project is free.
- Processing Fee: A nominal 3% – 5% fee is added to each payment to cover credit card processing and gateway costs.
For Professionals
- Service Fee: WpCircle charges a sliding-scale service fee based on your total lifetime earnings with a specific client:
- 20% for the first $500 earned.
- 10% for earnings between $500.01 and $5,000.
- 5% for earnings exceeding $5,000.
- This structure encourages long-term partnerships and rewards successful, high-volume professionals.
7. Trust & Safety Overview
To keep the WpCircle community healthy, we enforce three “Golden Rules”:
- Keep it on WpCircle: To remain protected by the Escrow system and Dispute Resolution, all communications and payments must happen through the platform. Moving a project off-platform voids all protections.
- Verified Reviews: Reviews can only be left after a financial transaction is completed. This prevents “review bombing” and ensures all feedback is based on actual work performance.
- Proactive Monitoring: Our system uses AI to detect suspicious links, fraudulent payment attempts, and duplicate accounts, ensuring that you only interact with real, verified people.
