Getting Started

Reviewing Bids & Proposals

Once your project is live, you will begin receiving proposals from WordPress professionals. WpCircle makes it easy to compare experts, track your budget, and find the perfect match for your project.

1. How to Find Your Proposals

There are three ways to stay updated on new bids:

  • The Dashboard: When a new proposal arrives, a “New Proposals” banner will appear at the top of your dashboard showing which project has active bids.
  • Project Management: Go to All Work in the left sidebar > Open the Projects tab > Click the View Proposals button.
  • Notifications: You will receive a real-time platform notification and an email alert every time a professional submits a pitch.

2. Navigating the Bids Page

The Review Bids interface is designed to give you a high-level summary and granular details at a glance.

The Left Sidebar (Filters & Summary)

  • Status Filters: Quickly toggle between “All Bids,” “New/Unreviewed,” and your “Shortlisted” candidates.
  • Bid Summary: See the financial landscape of your project instantly:
    • Avg. Bid: The middle-ground pricing.
    • Lowest/Highest: The range of quotes received to help you gauge market rates.

Sorting

Use the dropdown in the top-right to sort by Newest First, Budget (Low to High), or Timeline.

3. Understanding the Proposal Card

Each professional’s proposal is broken down into four key quadrants:

A. The Freelancer Fame Wall

This section provides the professional’s “at-a-glance” resume:

  • Completed Projects: Total number of jobs finished on WpCircle.
  • Success Rate: A percentage based on client satisfaction and project completion.
  • Total Earned: The professional’s experience level in dollar terms.
  • Ongoing: How many projects they are currently managing (helps gauge their availability).

B. Financials & Timeline

  • Fixed Budget: The total cost they are quoting for the full scope.
  • Est. Timeline: How long they expect the project to take.
  • Proposed Milestones: (If provided) A breakdown of how the work will be split and paid (e.g., Phase 1: $100, Phase 2: $20, etc.).

C. The Proposal Pitch

This is where the professional explains how they will solve your problem.

  • Click Read full pitch to see their full technical approach and suggestions.

D. Smart Tags

Look for automated badges that highlight the best options:

  • Top Match: Professionals whose skills perfectly align with your project tags.
  • Lowest Bid: The most budget-friendly option.
  • Fastest: The professional offering the quickest turnaround.

4. Taking Action

Once you’ve reviewed a proposal, you have four primary actions:

  1. Shortlist (Star Icon): Click the star to move the professional to your “Shortlisted” list for final comparison.
  2. Reject (X Icon): If a proposal doesn’t meet your needs, clicking the ‘X’ hides it from your main view.
  3. Chat to Interview: Open a direct message thread to ask technical questions, verify experience, or share more files.
  4. Pay Escrow & Hire: If you’re ready to start, click this to deposit funds into the secure Escrow account and officially begin the project.

5. Tips for Choosing the Best Pro

  • Don’t just look at the price: A “Top Match” with a slightly higher bid often saves you money in the long run by doing the job right the first time.
  • Check the “Ongoing” count: If a pro has 10+ ongoing projects, ask them in chat about their immediate availability.
  • Review the Milestones: Ensure the payment stages feel fair and reflect the work being delivered.
